Clinical Mental Health Counseling Graduate Student

Every chapter has prepared me to sit with people in theirs.

I’m Cacey Klein. I believe people heal when they are deeply known and safely connected. I’m completing my master’s through the Townsend Institute at Concordia University Irvine and preparing for clinical internship.

A life moving toward counseling

The clinical framework is new. The calling is not.

Years in human resources, organizational leadership, international nonprofit work, and adoptive parenting taught me to stay present in complex stories.

Those experiences deepened my respect for attachment, family systems, cultural humility, advocacy, and the courage it takes to keep showing up in difficult seasons. Graduate study is giving language, theory, and clinical discipline to work my life has quietly prepared me to do.

Meet Cacey
Areas of interest

Drawn to the people who spend so much of life caring for others.

These are developing clinical interests, not a statement of independent practice. Internship placement and supervision will shape the populations Cacey serves.

01

Parents + caregivers

Supporting people carrying the emotional weight of caregiving, advocacy, uncertainty, and family responsibility.

02

Women in transition

Walking alongside women navigating identity, changing relationships, anxiety, grief, and new seasons of life.

03

Families + relationships

Exploring patterns, attachment needs, family-of-origin concerns, and the possibility of healthier connection.

Counseling philosophy

A safe relationship can become a place to tell the truth and try something new.

My role is not to provide all the answers. I hope to walk alongside clients with curiosity, compassion, and honesty as they discover their own capacity for growth.

Explore my approach
01

Attachment + connection

Understanding how our earliest and most important relationships shape safety, emotion, and the ways we relate today.

02

Emotionally focused work

Listening for the emotions and unmet needs beneath protective patterns, conflict, and disconnection.

03

Systems + story

Considering family dynamics, lived experience, trauma, responsibility, and meaning as parts of one whole person.

“People heal when they are deeply known and safely connected.”
